TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Rose (Izzo) McGowan, age 88, died Tuesday, March 18, at the Blairehouse of Tewksbury, following an extended illness. She was the wife of James F. McGowan, with whom she had celebrated her 49th wedding anniversary this past February 19th.
She was born in Malden on January 12, 1920, a daughter of the late Paul and Grace (Conte) Izzo. She lived in Malden the greater part of her life, but had been a resident of Tewksbury since 1998.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, , Patricia and her husband James "JJ" Levesque of Melrose, and Kathleen and Leclerc Francois of Tewksbury, Judith Cornell of NH; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Madeline Sarno of Newburyport; a brother, Peter Izzo of FL; a sister-in-law, Olive Izzo of FL; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Mary "May" Thompson, Frank Izzo and Nicholas Izzo.
A Memorial in the funeral home. Private interment will be in Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472, will be appreciated.
