Mary R. (O'Rourke) Munzing, of Mystic, passed away Wednesday at Mystic Manor.
Mrs. Munzing was born in Plymouth, PA the daughter of James and Edna Berkheiser O’Rourke. She was a graduate of Wilkes Barre Business College.
Prior to her retirement, she served as bookkeeper at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church in Groton for several years.
Her husband, Frank E. Munzing died in 1965. She is survived by her daughters, Dawn Johnson of Mystic and Sharon Parkos and husband Joseph of East Haddam; grandchildren, Kimberly McCormick of Brooklyn, CT, Kelly Johnson of Jamaica Plains, MA, Karen Stringer of Griswold, Joseph Parkos of Urbana, IL, and Rebecca Parkos of E. Haddam; and 3 great-grandchildren, Scott McCormick, Chase McGowen, and Brock Gallo-Parkos. She was predeceased by a sister, Katherine Solt.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 69 Groton Long Point Road, Groton on Monday at 11am. Burial will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
