Obituary

WRENTHAM—Mrs. Madeline G. Crandall Post 96, of Wrentham and a former longtime Franklin resident died Monday March 17, 2008 at the Maples Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Lewis E. Crandall who died in 1970 and the late Norman E. Post who died in 1976.
Born July 15, 1911, in Milford, a daughter of the late Bernadino and Maria Fidele (Marinaccio) Lombardi, she lived for many years in Milford, before moving to Franklin in 1947.
Mrs. Post was educated in Milford public schools, and until her retirement was a designer and producer of fine hats.
Her interests included being around her family, sewing, and reading.
She was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens, the American Association of Retired Persons, and St. Mary’s Church, in Franklin, and a longtime member of its choir and its Catholic Women’s Club.
She is survived by three daughters Barbara Ann Shackelford of Waterloo, Illinois, Jean M. Ristaino of Bellingham and Lois E. D’Amico of Franklin, and a sister Delia Malvesti of Quincy. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Americo Lombardi, Ernest Lombardi, Domenic Lombardi, Clara Ceramicoli and Rena Capurso.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday March 20, 2008 at 9:45AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin (www.oterifuneral.com) with a Funeral Blessing in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10:30AM. Burial will follow in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Medway Road, Rt. 109 Milford.
Calling hours are Wednesday March 19, 2008 from 4-8PM.
