Gordon Busbin, 77, of Ocilla died Monday, March 17 at Palemon Gaskins Nursing Home in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Thursday, March 20, at Pinetta Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Hand officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Busbin was born January 15, 1931 in Worth County to the late Lee and Polly Dowdy Busbin. He was a farmer and lived in the community most of his life and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Busbin is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Polly Fletcher Busbin of Ocilla; sons and daughters-in-law, Rex & Diane Busbin of Mystic, Larry Busbin of Ocilla, Ricky & Donna Busbin of Pearson, FL, Tim Busbin of Irwin County and Dale & Shirley Busbin of Irwin County; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Heath of Alapaha, Betty Kay & Robert Williams of Irwin County and Donna & Dale Mims of Irwin County; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buddy & Peggy Busbin of Tifton and Bill & Faye Busbin of Ocilla; sisters and brothers-in-law, Inez Wingate of Jackson County, Myrtice McGee of Pulston, MI, Patricia & Herman Owens of Irwinville and Peggy Burk of Irwin County; well as several nieces and nephews and all his caregivers and family at Palemon Gaskins Nursing Home. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Cecil Busbin, grandson, Todd Busbin, a daughter-in-law, Vera Busbin and several brothers and sisters.
