WORCESTER-Angeliki (Karagiannis) Ganas, 81, of Worcester, died Saturday, March 15th in UMass-Memorial Hospital. Her husband of 54 years Spyridon M. Ganas died in 2002. She is survived by her children, Christos and his wife, MaryLou Ganas of Shrewsbury, Helen Ganas-Sioutis, wife of Fotios Sioutis of Worcester and Stavros and his wife, Stephanie Ganas of Shrewsbury; her sister Phylanthe, wife of Odysseff Pantazis of Worcester; four grandchildren, Spyridon S., Suzanne E., Michael S. and Matthew C. Ganas; and many nephews and nieces.
She was born in Tsamanta, Thesprotia, Greece the daughter of Stavros and Marina (Raptis) Karagiannis. Mrs. Ganas had owned and operated Natick Pizza Palace with her husband from 1969 until 1978. She was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and its Ladies Philoptochos.
The funeral is Wednesday, March 19th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, March 18th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
