Obituary

WRENTHAM—Keizo “Michael” Matsuyama 91, of Wrentham, died Saturday March 15, 2008 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Yoshiko (Chungsookim) Matsuyama.
Born September 30, 1916 in On Yang, Korea a son of the late Kwanghyun Cho and Anna (Oh) Cho, he had lived in Wrentham for the past 20 years.
Mr. Matsuyama was educated in Japan and was a graduate of Meiji University with a bachelors degree in economics. Until his retirement he was the proprietor of the Ilshin Trading Company in Japan.
His interests included golf, soccer, and taking daily walks. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his great great grandchild.
He will be remembered as being a devout catholic, a very modern thinker and a person who always remembered his roots.
He was a member and daily communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Wrentham, and the Wrentham Senior Citizens.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 64 years are two sons Kaoru Matsuyama of Korea and John Cho of Franklin, a daughter Kazuko Matsuyama of Wrentham, and one sister Dukjoo Cho of Korea. Also surviving are his grandchildren Yuri Matsuyama, Ken Cho, Yuichi Matsuyama, Michael Kennedy, Teruyuki Matsuyama, Margaret Cho, Kyle Goldman, Mayumi Kennedy and Kiyoshi Matsuyama. He is also survived by a great great grandchild Titus Kennedy.
He was the father of the late Kimiyoshi Matsuyama and Kyoko Helena Matsuyama, and the brother of the late Sunggap Cho, Sanggap Cho and Bokjoo Cho and Paula Cho.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Tuesday March 18, 2008 at 9:00AM in St. Mary’s Church 140 South St. Wrentham, MA 02093.
Interment will follow in the family lot at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.
There are no public calling hours.
