Laconia-Rita Helen Goyette, 75, of 112 Baldwin Street died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at St. Francis Healthcare Center after a period of declining health.
Born in Laconia on December 28, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Leonide (Dulac) Goyette and had been a lifelong resident graduating from Laconia High School in 1951.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at Pike Industries, Inc. for over 28 years in the Purchasing Department. Rita was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. An avid golfer winning many trophies, she had held memberships at Lake View Golf Club in Belmont, Oak Hill Golf Course in Meredith, Pheasant Ridge Country Club in Gilford, and Laconia Country Club. She also enjoyed bowling and playing tennis earning many awards as well, and at one point holding the title of Laconia City Champion in tennis.
Rita is survived by her two brothers, Maurice Goyette and his wife Gisele of Daytona, Florida, and Leo Goyette and his wife Claudia of Lakeport; six nieces and nephews, Joseph Goyettte of Daytona Florida, Paul Goyette of Bedford, Cheryl Linteau of Laconia, Audrey Goyette of Lakeport, Brian Goyette, and Steven Goyette of Laconia; her aunt, Rena Fitts of Gilford and Florida. Many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins also survive Rita.
Visiting hours were Tuesday, March 18, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Adrien R. Longchamps pastor of the church celebrated the mass. Entombment followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery Chapel, Garfield Street, Laconia to await burial in the spring in the family lot.
