Marcus Fain Denney, 44, of Ocilla died Saturday, March 15, 2008, in Irwin County.
Funeral services will be held 4 P.M., Monday, March 17, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Irwin County with Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Denney was born September 16, 1963 in Ocilla, Georgia to Mary Harrison Denney and the late Fain Denney. He lived in the community all of his life. Mr. Denney was a 1981 graduate of Irwin County High School and graduated from East Central Technical College. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and a self-employed mechanic. He was also a member of the Ocilla Country Club and an avid fisherman and hunter. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Denney is survived by his two sons: Nic Denney and Mac Denney of Ocilla; one daughter: Anna Denney of Ocilla; his mother: Mary H. Denney of Ocilla; and three sisters and brothers-in-law: Denise & Steve Hamby of Ocilla, Wanda & Gary Watson of Fitzgerald, and DeAnn & Michael Adkison of Ocilla. He is also survived by Vivian Young Denney, the mother of his children as well as nieces and nephews: Hillary, Kaylan, Lee, Hayden, Kristen, Jennifer and Ethan. Mr. Denney was preceded in death by his father: Fain Denney.
