LEICESTER: Richard Paul Hebert, 82, of 111 Auburn St. in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, died Friday, March 14 at Knollwood Nursing Center in Worcester after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Virginia A. (Paradise) Hebert, a daughter Sharon E. Gardner Ramm and her husband Mark of Cherry Valley, a son Brian R. Hebert of Brookfield, six grand children Elise A. Gardner of Leicester, Danielle J. Hebert of Brookfield, Angela M. Hebert of E. Brookfield, Shawn D. Gardner and Michael W. Gardner, Jr. both of Spencer and Matthew R. Hebert of Chicopee, a sister Theresa Morin of No.Oxford, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his loving companion, his black lab "Sally".
Mr. Hebert was a night supervisor of maintenance at the Paul Revere Insurance Co. in Worcester where he worked for 25 years, retiring in 1985.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Edmor H. and Antoinette (Allard) Hebert.
Mr. Hebert served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater, earning him 6 Bronze Stars and the WWII Victory Medal. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church.
A prayer service for Richard will be held on Monday, March 17 at 10 a.m. in the MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. A calling hour will precede the service from 9 to 10a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester.
