LAS VEGAS, NV- David Castell, 61, of North Las Vegas, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 8th in University Medical Center in Nevada. Dave had resided in Nevada for the past 15 years. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. He was a member of the American Legion for over 30 years, initiating his membership with Post 288 in Worcester and continued to faithfully serve as 1st Vice Commander of Post 51 in North Las Vegas. He was one of the first Nevada American Legion Riders and was a member of the Harley Owners Group.
Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Castell and sister, Donna Morin. He leaves his loving family: a son Ronald Castell; a daughter, Debra Miett and her husband Scott; his grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob and Madison Miett; his parents, Raymond and Lillian (Liberty) Castell; his brother, James Castell; his aunts, Alice Pigeon and Anita Seaver; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Throughout his life, he was a caring and generous individual. Dave continues to give to others by sharing the gift of life through organ donation. He will be deeply missed by his many friends and loved ones.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 17th in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, 8605 Cameron Street, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
