Arthur H. Gleichauf Jr., of Wrentham formerly of Plainville, died Thurs. march 6, 2008 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital. He was 92.
Born in Norwood, he graduated from Norwood High School in 1933 and later from Bentley School of Accounting. He was honored by Bentley College on the occasion of his 50th class reunion with a bachelor’s degree. He served with the 64th Transportation Co of the U.S. Army as a 1st Lt in the Philippines during WW II. Mr. Gleichauf was the Town Accountant for the Town of North Attleboro for several years and following his retirement to So. Yarmouth worked for the town’s of Dennis, Chatham and Provincetown assisting in accounting issues. He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Masons in Wrentham.
Husband of the late Grace (Morse) Gleichauf, he was the brother of William R. of FL, Elizabeth Gleichauf of Norwood, Sylvia Robinson of FL and Robert G. of NH and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Kenneth and Robert Gleichauf and Irene Robinson.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church 150 Chapel St. in Norwood on Thursday April 10th at 11;00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
