June R. (LaSalle) Shea, 89, of Abington passed away Tuesday, at the South Shore Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Michael Shea and the daughter of the late John and Martha (Norstrum) LaSalle. June was born and brought up in Woburn, a graduate of Woburn High. She worked and retired from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Division of Employment and Training as an analyst.
She was an avid fan of greyhound racing and the lottery, also a great Yankees fan. June enjoyed politics and was a lifelong member of the Democratic Party; she was also a member of many animal rights groups and is survived by her beloved poodle, Charlie.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Jackson and her husband Glen of Georgia, her sons, John Shea, Joseph Shea and his wife Elizabeth, all of Abington, and Michael Shea and his wife Rebecca of CT. ;also her 2 grandchildren Allison and Michael Shea of Ct., her favorite niece Carolyn and many other nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Sonny LaSalle, Doris DiNallo and Marguerite Powers.
Her funeral services will be held Saturday March 15th at 8:15 A.M. from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St.(RT 58 @ the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00 A.M. in the St. Bridget Church, Abington. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Rockland. Visitation will be held Friday March 14th from 3-7 PM.
