TEWKSBURY; Gerald W. Smith, age 62, a resident of Tewksbury for 36 years, died Monday, March 10, 2008 in Hampton, New Hampshire.
He was the husband of Margaret A. “Peg” (Stoney) Smith, to whom he was married for 36 years.
Born in Lawrence on September 3, 1945, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Virginia (Twarjon) Smith.
Mr. Smith was raised in Reading, attended Reading schools and graduated from Reading High School in 1963.
Prior to his retirement in 2000, he was employed as a credit manager for the Rohm & Haas Company in Chicago, IL.
Mr. Smith was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in West Andover.
According to his family, he enjoyed renovating, remodeling and maintaining his rental properties in New Hampshire.
In addition to Peg, he is survived by one daughter, Cressida L. McGowan and her husband Jeremiah of Lancaster, PA; two sons, Andrew W. Smith of Tewksbury and Jefferson R. Smith of Cambridge; one granddaughter, Zipporah R. McGowan of Lancaster, PA.
Calling hours Friday, March 14th, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Saturday, March 15th, at 10:30 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m., at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 198 Haggett’s Pond Rd., Andover.
