Grace M. Rylee, 84, of Fitzgerald died Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, March 15, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. B.J. Funk officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rylee was born April 26, 1923 in Hemel Hempstead, England to the late John Frank and Gladys Elizabeth Riddle Young. She lived in the community for the past 52 years. Mrs. Rylee retired after 40 years as manager of the Credit Bureau of Fitzgerald, was a former secretary to Bryant Bowers, Sr. Attorney At Law and was a former employee of Lowell Packing Company. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and a former Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, David Rylee of Fitzgerald, Richard J. & Okyo Rylee of Seoul, South Korea and Terry Rylee of Riverdale; daughter & son-in-law, Pam & Bruce Bateman of Franklin, TN; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sister, Joan Blackwell of Hemel Hempstead, England; son-in-law, Fred Griffin of Greenwood, SC as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Arthur Rylee, Jr. a daughter, Patricia Griffin, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
