WEBSTER - Sandra L. (Daigneau) Bates, 67, of 51 Second Island Road, died Tuesday, March 11, in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.
She leaves her husband, Richard S. Bates; a son, Bryan G. Bates and his wife Dorothy C. of Spencer; a daughter, Cathy Bates-Lapierre of Meriden, CT; a brother, Francis Daigneau and his wife Betty of Springfield; 2 grandchildren, Matthew Bates of Dudley and Megan Bates of Portland, ME; nieces and nephews.
She was born in Dudley and raised in Webster by her aunts Stasia and Anita. She graduated from Bartlett High School.
Mrs. Bates was a homemaker. She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica and its Sacred Heart Society. She enjoyed doing scrapbooks and letter writing.
Memorial calling hours will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Friday, March 14, in Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a prayer service at 5:30 PM. A memorial Mass and burial will be held at a later date. Donations in her name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
