Mrs. Bessie (Tsandikos) Haidutis, 87, passed away Saturday March 8th at the D’Youville Senior Care.
She was born June 6, 1920 in Kalambaka, Greece, daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Karakantas) Tsandikos.
Bessie came to the United States in 1938 settling in Lowell with her family. She married her late husband Mr. Elias Haidutis who died in 2002 with whom she traveled throughout various parts of the world while he served in the U.S. Army.
She had worked most recently up until her retirement at RCA in Burlington, Ma.
Bessie was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell.
She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Damianakis and Angela Papandreou and her husband John, all of Lowell; a sister, Mitzi Anastopoulos of Weston, a brother, George Tsandikos of Chelmsford; two grandchildren, Maria Papandreou and her husband Ryan Kelley of Florida; Michael Damianakis of Cailfornia.
She was the mother to the late John E. Haidutis.
Funeral Services were held privately on Tuesday March 11th at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell. Interment followed in Westlawn Cemetery.
