LOWELL—Olga (Courtis) Demopolos, 100 years old, a resident of Lowell, died Sunday evening, March 9th, at the Willow Manor, in Lowell. She was the wife of the late James Demopolos, who died in 1979.
She was born in Coprina Thessaly Greece, on January 12, 1908, a daughter of the late Aristides and Lambrine (Demos) Courtis. She attended Lowell Schools but left school to work in the Mills in 1922.
Mrs. Demopolos was a member of the Philoptochos Society Women’s Club at the Hellenic Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity.
Surviving her are a son: William Demopolos, of Bedford, MA; sisters: Stella Andrews, of Dracut; and Jennifer Botts, of Rochester, NY; a granddaughter: Lisa, and her husband Jeff Colby, of Chatham; three great-grandchildren: Joseph, Joshua, and Faith Maria Colby, all of Chatham.
She was the mother of the late Ernest Demopolos, and Maria (Demopolos) Wallingford, and sister of the late: Angelo, Leo, and Sophie Courtis; Frances Wilson, Rena Betrou and Lola Tyler.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 12th at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her funeral service will take place at 11 AM at the Hellenic Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, Lee Street, Lowell. Burial in the Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
