Shrewsbury—Robert C. Cook, 68, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 8, in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester. He leaves his wife of 47 years, Edith A. (Johnson) Cook; 2 daughters, Kimberly A. Elliott and her husband Spencer of Plainfield, NJ and Elizabeth A. Welch and her husband Timothy of Auburn; 2 grandchildren, Timothy G. Welch and Ella C. Elliott. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine A. Cook in 1998.
Robert was born in Worcester, son of Sara (Seronick) and Charles H. Cook. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School and lived in Shrewsbury all his life. He worked for Worcester State Hospital for 27 years, and Massachusetts State Police for 10 years. After retiring, he worked for Knight’s Limousine Service until his death. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church for the past 35 years, where he was a member of the Men’s Club and was a Trustee. He was also a member of the Greendale Men’s Club. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling with family and friends, and spending time at his home by the lake. He cherished time with his family—especially his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 13, at 11:00 a.m. in Epworth United Methodist Church, Worcester. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 12 from 5-7 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester.
