Clara "Betty" Edith Brownlie, 84, of Derry, NH died on Monday, March 10, 2008 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry. Mrs. Brownlie was born on February 28, 1924, a daughter of the late Samuel and Elsie (Northrop) Bennett. She was a trustee with Merrimack College and she enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Andrew N. Brownlie of Londonderry, NH, Timothy P. Brownlie of Goffstown, NH; two grandchildren, Christopher T. Brownlie and Cameron A. Brownlie; one sister Norma M. Driscoll of Fairfield, CT. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brownlie was predeceased by her husband, Norman E. Brownlie, one daughter Leslie A. Lavergne, and her two brothers, Walter and Warren Bennett.
Visiting hours were held on Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 11:00 to 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH. Interment followed in West Parrish Cemetery, Andover, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, 249 Canal Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
