DERRY, NH – Margaret (Hart) Morse of Derry, NH, formerly of Methuen died Sunday at her home with her family at her bedside. She was the widow of retired Methuen Police Chief Francis Morse and mother of Francis and Michael who pre-deceased her.
She lived in Methuen for 50 yars and was a member of St. Monica’s Parish. She was also a member of St. Monica’s Ladies Sodality and the Bon Secours Women’s Guild. She was born in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of the late William and Maude Hart, growing up in Lawrence attending St. Rita’s Grammar School and St. Mary’s High School. Peg worked as a secretary in the early 50’s and was the manager of the Casino Gift Shop at Hampton Beach. She stayed at home after the birth of her son Michael. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
Peg leaves behind her daughter Meg Morse-Barry and son-in-law Stephen Barry her devoted caregiver of Derry, NH.
She is also survived by four grandchildren Michael Barry and his wife Jill of Methuen, Hollyann Barry and her partner Elizabeth Hamilton of Cincinnati, OH, Kevin and Sean Morse-Barry of Derry, NH.
Peg particulary enjoyed the company of her 6 great-grandchildren, Matthew Barry of Cincinnati, OH, Joe, Kyra, Tommy, Toby and Stephen Barry of Methuen. They brought her a great deal of happiness and joy and she liked to take credit for them. Her family also includes several loving nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Ronald McDonald House 229 Kent Street Brookline, MA 02446. At the families request there are no calling hours. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Lawrence with burial following in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
