Obituary

LOWELL—Marie R. (Crevier) Conley, 97 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died early Saturday morning, March 8th, at the home of her daughter, in Lowell. She was the wife of the late James A. Conley, who died in September of 1960.

She was born in Lowell, on January 22, 1911, a daughter of the late Gedeon and Odile (Vendette) Crevier. She received her education in the Lowell Schools and was a mill worker for many years, also working nights stitching parachutes for the war effort during World War II. Before retiring she worked in the dietary department of the former St. John’s Hospital.

Mrs. Conley was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and held membership in the Holy Rosary Sodality of that parish, the League of Catholic Women and the D’Youville Manor Ladies Guild.

Surviving her are two daughters and a son-in-law: Doris A. Welcome, with whom she resided; and Theresa M. and William Lyons, all of Lowell; a daughter-in-law: Pauline Conley, of Dracut; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Jacqueline Hall, and James E. Conley, and grandmother of the late David Welcome and Michael Welcome and great-grandmother of the late Rachael Welcome. She was also the mother-in-law of the late Milton Hall and Donald Welcome, and sister of the late Omer, Albert, Arthur, Henry, Everett, and Ernest Crevier and the late Silvia Nadeau and Laura Gilbert.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass to be offered Tuesday, March 11th at 11 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.
