Obituary

GLOUCESTER: James E. “Sid” Sidlowski, 73, died Saturday, March 8, 2008 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the husband of Carol A. (Blanchard) Sidlowski.
Born in Salem on July 28, 1934, he was the son of the late Louis G. and Edna R. (Wiley) Sidlowski. He was a graduate of Gloucester High School class of 1952.
“Sid” to his family and friends retired from the Boston Gas Company in 1994 after thirty-five years of service. Following retirement he enjoyed traveling and especially spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Cape Ann Chapter No. 1471, Loyal Order of Moose.
In addition to his wife of fifty-two years, he is survived by his five children, Cathy and her husband, Richard Standley of Essex, Stephen Sidlowski of Gloucester, Laura Sidlowski of Oklahoma, Amy and her husband, Roger McKee of Connecticut and Jon and his wife, Cathi Sidlowski of Gloucester, eleven grandchildren, Emily Sidlowski, Jessica Lund, Christine Webber, Alex Webber, Aristotle Theophanis, Maia Theophanis, Joshua Sidlowski, Lacey Sidlowski, Sara Sidlowski, Ryan Sidlowski and Duncan McKee, six great-grandchildren, Tristan Sidlowski, Ashleigh Cole, Sevn Lund, River Lund, Salem Lund and Ki Thomas, a sister-in-law, Mary and her husband, Al Lattof, a brother-in-law, David Blanchard and his companion, Elke Schoen, an aunt, Charlotte and her husband, Wilbur Michon and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a private celebration of his life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
