Mrs. Catherine Costos, 85, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died peacefully at her home Friday March 7th surrounded by her loving family.
Catherine was born September 12, 1912 in Lowell, a daughter of the late George and Mary (Katsakos) Boutselis.
She was educated in the Lowell schools and was a devoted lifelong communicant of the Hellenic Orthodox Church Holy Trinity. In her earlier years she was employed by M.F. Horan Co.
Catherine was a beautiful woman of abiding faith and touched the lives of everyone who knew her with grace and style. She was a devoted homemaker who’s passion for cooking and baking was enjoyed by all.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, George Costos of Lowell; two daughters, Carol A. Costos of Lowell, Paula E. Cooper and her husband Harry of Londonderry, N.H.; her son, Bruce S. Costos and partner Michael Monahan of Chelmsford; her loving grandsons, Wesley T. Cooper of Manchester, N.H., Jonathan S. Cooper of Brighton, Ma.; a sister, Martha Ouellette of Windham, N.H.; a brother, Alexander Boutselis and his wife Rena of Lowell; three sister in laws, Katherine Costos and her husband Charles of Jacksonville, FL, Elizabeth Boutselis of State College, PA, Elizabeth Costos of Chelmsford; a brother in law, Louis Costos of Clearwater, FL; and her beloved nieces, nephews, close friends, and neighbors.
She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Pauline Guerin and Stella Beaulieu, a brother, Dr. John Boutselis, a brother in law, Christos Costos, and her dear sister in law, Bella Costos.
Friends will be received at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Monday from 4 to 8pm. Her funeral will take place on Tuesday at 8am from the Funeral Home to be followed by services at the Hellenic Orthodox Church Holy Trinity at 9am. Interment to follow in Lowell Cemetery.
