Evelyn (Johnson) Buck, 95, of Mansfield died on Saturday March 8, 2008 at the Epoch Senior Healthcare Center in Norton. She was the beloved wife of the late William L. Buck who passed away on 1956.
Born in Boston, MA on November 14, 1912 she was a daughter of the late Olof and Hildagard (Olson) Johnson.
She grew up in Mansfield, was educated in Mansfield public schools and was a 1931 graduate of Mansfield High School.
Mrs. Buck had worked for 20 years at Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 20 years prior to retiring in 1975, and had also been with the company when it was the former metals and controls.
Following retirement Evelyn enjoyed 31 years spending the winter months in St. Petersburg, Florida and the summertime in West Dover, Vermont.
She was a member of the Mansfield United Methodist Church, the Angle Tree Chapter Order of Eastern Star in North Attleboro and the East Mansfield Community Club.
An avid card player, she also liked to crochet and spend time with her loving Family. She moved back to her hometown of Mansfield in 2006.
She is survived her devoted sons; William L. Buck and his wife Shelia of Mansfield, Ronald E. Buck and his wife Cheryl of Mansfield, also survived by her cherished 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 1 niece and her daughter in law Charlene Buck of Florida. She was the mother of the late Richard C. Buck and was the sister of the late Carl E. Johnson.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday March 15th from 2-4 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield.
Services will be held at the conclusion of visiting hours at 4:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will be held at a later date in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
