Obituary


SHREWSBURY-Annie O. (Trainor) Clifford, 86, of Shrewsbury, died Friday, March 7th in St. Vincent Hospital. Her husband of 38 years, Leonard A. Clifford died in 1979. She leaves a son, Alfred L. Clifford of Fresno, CA; a granddaughter, Christine A. wife of Thomas J. Dolan of San Jose, CA; a great grandson, Grant E. Hansen of San Jose, CA; and several nephews and nieces. Three brothers, John T., Charles R., and Raymond J. Trainor and a sister, Rita A. Nishan predeceased her.

Mrs. Clifford was born in Worcester, the daughter of Michael J. and Annie L. (Gillan) Trainor and was a graduate of David Hale Fanning Trade school. She was employed by Sheridan Apartments for 10 years as a leasing agent and had previously been employed by UMass Medical Center in the food service department as a clerk. Mrs. Clifford was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church, a life member of the Worcester County Women’s Bowling Association, where she once served as president and secretary and a permanent member of the Women’s International Bowling Congress. She was a former member and past president of the Minutewomen Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association and Club 52. Mrs. Clifford was an avid ballroom dancer and had taught ballroom dancing at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Worcester.

The funeral is Monday, March 10th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at Noon in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 10:15 until 11:15 the morning of the funeral in the funeral home.
