WORCESTER____Frank J. Waskiewicz, 88, of Worcester, died Tuesday March 4, 2008 in St. Vincent Hospital, 123 Summer St. His wife, Julia S. (Piktialis) Waskiewicz died in 1978.
He leaves a son, James R. Waskiewicz and his wife Diane of Marstons Mills; two grandchildren, Jillian and Justin and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, a son of Frank and Anna (Kowalewska) Waskiewicz and lived here all his life.
Mr. Waskiewicz was a machinist 40 years for Crompton & Knowles Co. and worked for the company until it closed. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving as a Sergeant. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School.
Frank was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, the Polish Naturalization Independent Club and the Polish American Veterans of World War II.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday March 11 with a committal service at 11:00 a.m. in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, is directing funeral arrangements.
