Obituary

Jesup-Sara Ruth Flowers Coley, age 65, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Memorial Health in Savannah after an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Wayne County, a homemaker, and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

She was preceded in death by two of her sons, David Randall Carter and Herschel Carter Jr., her parents Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Flowers, and her sister, Virginia Parra.

She is survived by her husband Fred Coley, a daughter, Torie Coley, and three sons, Greg Coley, Freddie Coley Jr. and his wife Candice, and Dewey M. Carter, and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of Jesup. In addition, she is survived by three brothers, Paul Flowers of St. Simon’s Island, Carson Flowers of Jesup, and Doug Flowers of Alma and two sisters, Betty Landon of Jesup and Glenda Carter of Alma and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 11:00 a. m. from the James R. Gordon Memorial Chapel of Howard~Jones~Nobles Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Manning and Reverend Wayne Manning officiating. Interment will follow at Little Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Owen Carter, Wayne Carter, Roger Nettles, Ricky Mobley, Kenny Brannon, Wendall Brannen, and Charlie Hartley. Honorary pallbearers will be Bull Cameron, Thad Crummey, Sonny Napier, Tim Hopkins, Tim Manning, Amber Mathis, Dot Cameron, Susan Sutton, Rocky Lane, Steve Nettles, Ed Parra, and Grant Lewis.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 7, 2008, from 5:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. at the funeral home.
