Obituary

Worcester- Rita J (Patient) Brunelle 86 formerly of 165 Warner Avenue died February 9th in Christopher House Nursing Home 10 Mary Scano Drive following an illness.Her husband of 52 years, Normand E Brunelle Sr., died in 1994.

She leaves a son, Normand E Brunelle Jr. of Fort Washington Maryland, another son William J Brunelle of Concord California died in 2001. She is also survived by a brother Roland V Patient of Worcester and two sisters Lucille Josey of Grafton and Religious Sister Margeurite Patient of the Sisters of Providence, Holyoke; 5 grandchildren; a great-grandchild and nieces and nephews.

She was born in Worcester a daughter of Ernest and Beatrice (Lajoie) Patient. She was a graduate of the former High School of Commerce and later worked as a bookkeeper for the F.W. Woolworth Company in Boston, she also worked as a bookkeeper for various hotels in Boston. Mrs. Brunelle lived in Boston for fifty three years and returned to Worcester in 1995.

She was a member of Saint Joseph's Parish in Worcester and The ladies Auxiallery of The knights of Columbus in Brighton. Mrs. Brunelle enjoyed crafts and was active in senior citizen programs in Florida while vacationing there.

The funeral will be held Friday February 14th from Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 9;30 am in St. Josephs Church 35 Hamilton St. Entombment will follow in the Notre Dame Mausoleum.Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 8 to 9 am Friday February 14th prior the Mass.The family requests that flowers be omitted and that donations be made instead to Saint Josephs Church Restoration Fund, 5 Whitman Road Worcester Ma., 01609.
