Joseph G. Green, 82, of 130 Chestnut street, Franklin, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Franklin Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, following a long illness.
Born in St. Philip, Barbados July 20, 1925 a son of the late Simeon and Marie (Dottin) Gittens, he formerly lived most of his life in Chicago, before relocating to Franklin several months ago.
Until his retirement Mr. Green worked in the shipping department of the S&C Electric Co. in Chicago for over 30 years.
He is survived by 3 daughters: Laurine Y. Jordan and her Husband David of Whitinsville, Portia Rawlins of Florida, Antoinette Graves in Barbados, 5 sons: Rawle & Sylvan Dottin in Canada, Anderson Pollard in Barbados, Joseph Green, Jr. of Chicago, Frank Stewart of MN, 2 brothers: William & Allan Gittens in Barbados, 2 sisters: Earline Gittens of NY, Miriam Gooding in Barbados. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, www.franklinfuneral.com. Following cremation, interment will take place in his native homeland in Barbados.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m.
