Obituary

Don Robert Gosch, 89, of Rockport, Texas, died Monday, March 3, 2008 at the home of his son, Daniel P. Gosch in Frankin. He was the Husband of the late Elizabeth (Brokaw) Gosch, who died in 2004.

Born in Evanston, Illinois, June 8, 1918, a son of the late Martin and Carolyn Gosch, he formerly lived in New Jersey for many years, before retiring to Texas.

He was a graduate of the University of Illinois where he received is B.S. in Metallurgical Technology. Mr. Gosch was a retired metallurgical engineer for Engelhard Industries of Murray Hill, New Jersey.

He served in the US Navy during WW II. He attained the rank of Lieutenant, and remained in the naval reserve until his honorable discharge in November, 1953.

He as an Eagle Scout, and was a member of Beta Sigma Psi Fraternity, The American Society of Metals, and while living in New Jersey, served on the planning board, and was councilman for the Clinton Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

He was an avid tennis player, and enjoyed bird watching.

Surviving in addition to his son in Franklin is a daughter Randall L. Danson of Brooklyn, New York, 2 grandchildren Aaron & Greta Gosch.
