LEEDS, MA: Adam Corrao, 46, formerly of Gloucester, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 2, 2008 in Northampton.
Born in Stoneham, on April 20, 1961, he was the son of Josephine (Genovese) Piraino, wife of Rosario Piraino of Gloucester, and the late George Corrao. At the age of 18, he joined the U.S. Navy, and having been raised in a culinary family, it was a natural progression for him to serve as a cook. He served aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga, on which he traveled to Florida, Bermuda, and Europe. He was honorably discharged in July of 1985.
Upon his return to Gloucester he was employed for twelve years at the former LePages, Inc. At one time, he was also involved in boat building. He had been a resident of Leeds for the past two years. He was currently employed by Hardigg Industries, working on contracts for the U.S. Government.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Jonathan W. Corrao Moore, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was also predeceased by his brother, John “Jackie” Corrao.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning in the Holy Family Parish, St. Ann Church at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery.
