Rose Bruno, 87

Rose (Cavallo) Bruno, 87, a lifelong resident of Mansfield died on Wednesday March 5, 2008 after a brief illness at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis G. Bruno who passed away on February 28, 1996.
Born in Mansfield, MA on October 14, 1920 she was a daughter of the late James and Mary (Defelice) Cavallo.
She grew up in Mansfield and was educated in Mansfield public schools. Prior to retiring in 1980, Mrs. Bruno had worked for 20 years as a Baker at Mansfield High School. She had also operated her own cake decorating business where she enjoyed making wedding and specialty cakes.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Rose was also a member of the Sons of Italy in Mansfield. She taught others her skills in cake decorating at the Adult Education Classes at both Mansfield and Foxboro High Schools.
In addition to baking, Rose also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, solving crossword puzzles and playing scrabble.
She is survived by her devoted daughters: Mary F. Langille and her husband Ronald of Zephyrhills, Florida and Sally A. Linton and her husband David of Mansfield with whom she made her home. Her loving granddaughter Heather R.M. Langille of Orono, Maine; she was the sister of Rocky Cavallo of Cumberland, Rhode Island, Alice Delage of North Attleboro and Margaret Fico-Mazzoca of Cranston, Rhode Island; also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday March 10th at 9:30 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday March 9th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
