Obituary

Joseph C. Luongo, 86, a lifelong Medford resident died Monday surrounded by his family at home. Husband of Maxine (Renner) Luongo with whom he shared more than 62 years of marriage. Born in Boston, son of the late Carmen and Marie (Indigarro) Luongo, he attended local schools. A Machinist by trade, he was employed by Artisan Industries for more than 32 years. Well know as a “jack of all trades” he enjoyed dancing, gardening, westerns and nature movies. He particularly enjoyed his many trips to North Dakota. He is a member of the Medford VFW. During WWII he served as a Medic in the Army. In addition to his wife he leaves a daughter Diane Folsom of Methuen. Father of the late Joseph Luongo. Loving grandfather of Heatherly Scott and Erik Folsom. Dear brother of Rose DeMattia of Medford and the late Domenic and Charles Luongo, Antoinette Ingeme, Frank and Ernest Brogna. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Friday at 10 am. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 3 thru 7 pm. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joe’s name can be sent to Beacon Hospice, 529 Main St., Suite 101, Charlestown, MA 02129. U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
