Mary A. (Holland) Dooley, 95, of New Bedford died Tuesday March 4, 2008 at Alden Court Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John H. Dooley.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John F. and Catherine (McCraith) Holland, she lived in New Bedford for all of her life. She was a graduate of Holy Family High School.
She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
Mrs. Dooley was formerly employed as a bank teller at First National Bank in New Bedford for 10 years until her retirement. Prior to that, she was a sales clerk at W.T. Grant Department Store in downtown New Bedford for many years.
Survivors include a son, John H. Dooley and his wife Mary, of Acushnet; and three grandchildren, Meghann, Kerin, and Sean Dooley.
She was the mother of the late James J. Dooley, and sister of the late Veronica "Bette" Ashley, Catherine Holland, Helen Holland, and Jeremiah Holland.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 AM in St. Lawrence Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
