Anita M. (Berretone) DeGruttola, a 50 year resident of Wakefield, died unexpectedly at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine, on Thursday, February 21, 2008. She was 90 years old.
Anita was born in Niagra Falls, New York, on August 22, 1917. She grew up there where she attended public schools there and graduated from Niagra Falls High School. Anita worked as a bookkeeper for Roland Teiner Company, a machine company in Everett for over 35 years. She retired several years ago.
Anita is the beloved wife of the late Vittorio G. DeGruttola. She is the devoted mother of Paula DeGruttola Aaronson and her husband Scott of Baltimore, Maryland, and Victor G. DeGruttola of Roslindale. She is the loving grandmother of Alexandra and Zachary Aaronson. She is the beloved sister of the late Mary Ricciuto, Jenny Mattace and Esther Krolick. She is also survived by 5 nieces and nephews.
Anita's Funeral will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 8 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Melrose, followed by her Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main Street, Wakefield, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 7, 2008, from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will take place at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
