Salem: Therese G. (Beaulieu) LaMontagne, age 93 died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Home in Salem, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Rosaire D. LaMontagne.
Born and raised in Salem she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alma (Michaud) Beaulieu, and was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy. Widowed in 1949, Therese was a devoted mother who worked in the cafeteria of St. Joseph School in order to spend time with her young family. A member of the former St. Joseph Parish, she was a deeply religious woman and was a member of Les Dames de la Ste. Famille and the Tiers Ordre de Marie. Therese was a life long resident of Salem.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Therese M. Stepenuck & her husband Stephen of West Swanzey, NH, Suzanne P. Matsubara & her husband Ramon of Stockton Springs, ME, 2 sons: George R. LaMontagne & his wife Carole of S. Hamilton, Roger H. LaMontagne & his fiancée Patricia Cornacchio both of Salem, a daughter-in-law, Diana M. LaMontagne of Salem, 4 sisters: Alma Bouchard of Beverly, Cecile Abodeely, Albertine ‘Betty’ Robinson and Annette ‘Tibi’ Gagnon all of Salem. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Paul F. LaMontagne and her brother Lucien Beaulieu.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Grosvenor Park Nursing Home for their outstanding care and understanding over the past several years.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 11 am in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem. There will be no visiting hours. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
