LAWRENCE – Margaret M. “Peg” (Bresnahan) Donovan, age 86 of Lawrence died Sunday March 2, 2008 at Lawrence General Hospital.
Born in Lawrence, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Casey) Bresnahan and wife of 54 years of the late John J. Donovan. She graduated from St. Laurence O’Toole Grammar School and St. Mary’s High School and also attended McIntosh Business School. Mrs. Donovan worked as a Personnel Supervisor in the Massachusetts State Department of Public Welfare before retiring in 1983.
She attended St. Laurence O’Toole Church where she served as President of the Mother’s Guild. She was an attendant of St. Patrick’s Church where she was a member of the Choir. She also attended the Star of the Sea Church in Salisbury during the summer months. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Holy Family Hospital, Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians in Lawrence; Massachusetts State Department of Public Employees and a member of the Board of Directors of American Training.
A life long Lawrence resident, Margaret is survived by a daughter Kathleen M. and her husband Kevin F. O’Connell of Salem, NH and a son, Jack Donovan and his wife Carol (O’Brien) Donovan of Holliston.
Sisters-in-law Mary J. Bresnahan and Dorothy C. Bresnahan both of Methuen.
Grandchildren Kerry A. O’Connell of Weymouth, Alex and Ryan Donovan of Holliston and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence, MA with interment to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery also in Lawrence, MA.
