Obituary

Harold E. White, age 83, of Medford died February 28th at the Life care Center of Stoneham following a short illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Eileen (Monahan) with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Harry H. and Cecilia (Leonard) White.

Mr. White was a life-long resident of Medford and retired from the Medford Police Dept. as a Lieutenant Detective following an exemplary career of service for more than thirty years. Mr. White was a graduate of Medford High School and also held an Associates Degree from Northeastern University and in 1975 he attended the FBI Academy. Mr. white was also a proud United States Navy Veteran of WWII and served on the USS Boston. Mr. White was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and cherished spending time with his family and attending different sporting and social events that his grandchildren were involved. In his leisure time he enjoyed following the local professional sporting teams and also enjoyed golfing.

In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Mr. White is predeceased by his daughter, the late Judith McLaughlin. He is survived by his children, Carol Harris and her husband Jimmy, Larry White and his wife Lisa, Kevin White and his wife Teresa and his son-in-law Michael McLaughlin all of Medford. He was the loving grandfather of Kelley, Jason, Shawn, Erin, Joey, Jennifer and Brendan and great grandson Justin. He is further survived by his sisters, Helen MacIsaac and Donna Merullo.

His funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Wednesday, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery,
