Obituary

SALEM - Richard A. Mikulski, 74, husband of Pauline (Caron) Mikulski, of Salem, died Friday afternoon, February 29, 2008, at the Shaughnessy-Kaplan Rehabilitation Hospital, Salem following a brief illness.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Julius & Alice (Wronkowski) Mikulski. He was a lifelong resident of the city and a parishioner of the Immaculate Conception church where he had served as a lector and usher.

A US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict, Richard served in Korea and attained the rank of Corporal.

Mr. Mikulski retired in the mid 1990's as a Senior Chemist with Rohm & Haas, formerly Morton International. As an inventor, Richard made significant contributions to the industry during his 30 years of employment that is evidenced by patents he holds.

Besides his wife, with whom he shared over 52 years of marriage he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah & George Tournas of Peabody, Linda & Robert Plante of Danvers, Therese & Eric “Ricky” Palm of Salem, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark Mikulski of Salem, Stephen & Deborah Mikulski of Danvers, 8 grandchildren, James Tournas, Christine Tournas, Nicholas Plante, Christopher Plante, Andrew Mikulski, Kathleen Mikulski, Derek Palm & Erica Palm, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alexander Mikulski and Stanley Mikulski.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 9 am FROM THE LEVESQUE FUNERAL HOME, 163 LAFAYETTE STREET, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am at the Immaculate Conception Church, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday AT THE LEVESQUE FUNERAL HOME, from 4 to 8 pm. Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.
