Obituary

Stanley M. Stanzin of Needham died on Friday, February 29th at his home. He was 83 years old. Stanley served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Stanzin worked for the Polaroid Corp as a mechanical engineer and plant manager for 20 years, until his retirement in 1985. Stanley was a member of the Boston YMCA and an avid handball player for 60 years. He was a lifetime member of the Savin Hill Yacht Club in Dorchester. Mr. Stanzin was the appointed representative to the MWRA for the town of Needham. The beloved husband for 57 years of Clara (Weismann), he was the loving father of Laura Stanzin of Brooklyn, CT, Catherine Feeley and her husband Kevin of Walpole and Amy Mulvey and her husband Kevin of Falmouth. Cherished grandfather for Matthew, Hannah, Caroline and Sarah Feeley, Jessica, Eric, Connor and Hunter Mulvey. Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Monday, March 3 from 4-7 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at the Union Congregational Church, Rhodes Ave, East Walpole on Saturday, March 8 at 2: 00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations in Stanley’s name may be made to Hospice c/o VNA Care Network, 175 Highland Ave Needham MA 02494.
