Dorothy Cosper Wishum, 92, of Tifton died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2008, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. William Barksdale and Rev. Curtis Mixon will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rusty Wishum, Russ Smith, Stephen Weeks, Rev. Billy Sumner, Chris Castleberry and Jason Doggett. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 2, 2008, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Wishum was born on August 7, 1915 in Irwin County and was the daughter of Thomas William Cosper and Exer Beatrice Ethridge Cosper, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Lee Wishum, who died in 1981; and her siblings, Thelma Cosper Fowler Goodman, Margaret Cosper Wishum Lindsey, Irwin Gleamor Cosper, Bernice Cosper Hightower, Marcus Claiburn Cosper, Florence Cosper Pierce and Zelma Cosper Prisant. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Wishum is survived by a daughter, Darlene McBrayer of Tifton; four sons and three daughters-in-law, William and Lugene Wishum of Tifton, Gene and Carolyn Wishum of Moultrie, Jerry and Melba Wishum of Tifton and Lynn Wishum of Tifton; one brother, Cleon Cosper of Cottondale, Florida; one sister, Laverne C. Beard of Lakeland, Florida; ten grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
