Linda Stone Merritt, 66, of Fitzgerald died Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the Life Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, March 1, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with Rev. Steve Waldorf officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Ms. Merritt was born November 6, 1941 in Berrien County to the late Russell C. Stone and the late Jo Teague Stone. She lived in the community all of her life and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Ms. Merritt was a retired Registered Nurse, graduating from Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She was a former employee of Tift Memorial Hospital, Coffee County Hospital, Turner County Hospital and Osceola Nursing Home.
Ms. Merritt is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Mark Merritt of Milledgeville, Mike & Vicki Merritt of Fitzgerald and Mell & Tonya Merritt of Gray; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Danny & Dawn Stone of Fitzgerald; aunt, Dell Merritt of Fitzgerald as well as several nieces and nephews.
