Obituary

BELMONT

William “Scottie” Clark, 69, of 244 Daniel Webster Highway died February 10, 2003 in the Hospice House in Concord. He was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on June 23, 1933, the son of Cyril and Elizabeth Clark.

Raised and educated in Aberdeen, he was a veteran of the Royal Air Force Infantry. He excelled as a semi-professional soccer player and also as a semi-pro golfer. “Scottie” immigrated to the United States in 1974 and lived for a time in New York and Boston prior to relocating to the Lakes Region in 1976.

He had been employed as a machinist at Aavid Engineering until an accident forced his retirement in 1991. He had previously worked at the former Allen-Rogers Co and NH Ballbearing Co.

Mr. Clark was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish in Belmont. He enjoyed tending to his lawn and garden and always proud of his Scottish heritage, he looked forward to the annual Highland Games at Loon Mountain. He also enjoyed a special bond with his dog and cat.

Members of the family include his wife of 23 years, Marcella (Hueber) Clark of Belmont; a son, Scottie Clark of Laconia; two sisters, Josephine Lussier of Kincorth Aberdeen and Elizabeth Kemp of Aberdeen; two brothers, Cyril Clark of Kincorth Aberdeen and John Clark of Glasgow Scotland. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Mary Clark.

Calling hours were in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia on Friday from 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Joseph Parish, corner of Church and Main Sts., Belmont on Saturday at 10 AM. Spring burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber are the funeral directors.
