Buddy Morgan, 60, of Fitzgerald died Thursday, February 28, 2008 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 4 P.M., Saturday, March 1, at Arbor Baptist Church with Dr. Lloyd Stembridge and Rev. Earl Perry officiating. Brenda Paul will give the eulogy. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Buddy was born January 2, 1948 in Irwin County to the late Hollis P. and Abigail Tucker Morgan. He lived in Irwin and Ben Hill counties all of his life, retiring from Delphi after thirty years. Buddy was a member of the United Auto Workers Union, local chapter 2188. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. Buddy was a member of Arbor Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and golf.
Buddy is survived by two sons and a daughter, Ricky Morgan and Candace Stembridge, both of Fitzgerald and Eric Carter of Atlanta; grandchildren, Michael Morgan and Dylan Morgan of Fitzgerald; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buster & Christie Morgan of Moultrie and Richard & Dean Cargile of Ocilla; sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia & Donald Miles of Fitzgerald, Linda & Herman Griner of Perry and Brenda & Edwin Paul of Fitzgerald , as well as, several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bud Morgan.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Blue-Gray Community Hospice, P.O. Box 1447, Fitzgerald, GA 31750 or to the American Cancer Society, 323 Pine Ave., Albany, GA 31707
