Antonio “Tony” DeCrescenzo, 87 of Medford, died Wednesday in Lawrence Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of Filomena (Puopolo) DeCrescenzo with whom he shared more than 63 years of marriage. Born in Italy, son of the late Alberto and Francesca DeCrescenzo. He was educated in Italy. He worked as a machine operator.
He enjoyed gardening, grew his own fig trees and made his own home made wine. In his spare time he liked to watch country and western movies, animal shows, trips to Foxwoods and enjoyed opera.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son Albert DeCrescenzo and his wife Tina of Medford. Father of the late Francesca DeStefano. Loving grandfather of Phyllis Iacoviello and her husband David, Grace Bermingham and her husband David, Frances Hammond and her husband Robert. Loving great grandfather of Nicolas, Matthew, Olivia, Victoria, Albert and Catherine. Dear brother of Tomasina Pelosi of Toronto Canada and the late Giovannia Raffeale, Michele, Arcangelo and Giusseppe DeCrescenzo . Uncle of several nieces and nephews. Funeral from Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 9 am. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Frances of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8 pm. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
