Obituary

Mrs. Mary Veronica (Hayes) Dannahy, 98, a resident of Lawrence, MA., passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at the M.I. Nursing and Restorative Center.

Born in County Down Ireland, Mrs. Dannahy came to Lawrence at a very young age. She was educated in St. Rita's Grammar School as well as St. Mary's High School.
Mrs. Dannahy had worked in communications at the former Bon Secours Hospital for over 20 years retiring in 1973. She had worked at the Hospital since it had first opened. Mrs. Dannahy was a member of the Maryknoll Order Missionaries as well as a member of the Ladies A.O.H. Division 8. She had been a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence.

The widow of Denis Dannahy, family members include:
a daughter: Maureen Dannahy
nieces: Mrs. Anne Burrill and her husband Irvin of Newburyport, MA. and Joan Maguire of Maine.
a godchild: Caroline Santry of Lynn, MA., as well as several grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
She was sister of the late Rose, Catherine, Joseph, John, and Phillip Hayes.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 29, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, also in Lawrence.

Restorative and Skilled Nursing Center, 172 Lawrence St., Lawrence, MA., 01841, or to Caritas Holy Family Hospital, 70 East St., Methuen, MA., 01844. The Ladies A.O.H.
