MANCHESTER-Sr. Charlotte Bazinet RJM 83, died February 25, 2008 after a long illness.
She was born in Haverhill MA., on October 31, 1924 the daughter of William and Eva (Gaudreau) Bazinet.
She entered the order of Religious of Jesus and Mary in Sillery, Quebec on August 9, 1946 and pronounced her first vows on August 21, 1948 also in Sillery.
She was educated by the Religious of Jesus and Mary at Villa Augustina in Goffstown where she graduated in 1942 having completed the Classical course and the French Academic Course.
She then completed a course in nursing from Notre Dame de Lourdes Nursing School, Manchester in 1946, when she was granted the title of Registered Nurse from the State of NH.
From 1948 to 1958 she combined nursing and teaching in Woonsocket, RI and at the Villa Augustina in Goffstown.
She was sent as a missionary to Pakistan in 1958 where she completed a course in Midwifery. She continued to serve among the poor especially in the desert village of Mariakhel for 30 years. During that time she prepared woman as midwives, thus enabling them to continue her work.
In 1988 she returned to Villa Augustina for health reasons and in 1999 was admitted to Holy Cross Health Care Center in Manchester.
IN HER LIFE:She is remembered by her gentleness, her constant attention to those in need, and most especially her winning smile. All those who knew her loved her. She made friends at the Health Center, and staff and residents will miss her greatly.
In addition to her religious community she leaves a niece, Sandra Allett of Jupiter, FL and Lawton, Michigan. Sandy was the joy of her life, and they shared visits and outings.
SERVICES: Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 to 10:15 AM at Holy Cross Health Care Center Chapel, 357 Island Pond Road. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:15 AM in Holy Cross Chapel.
Spring Burial will be in Villa Augustina Cemetery, Goffstown, NH
