Dorothy M. (Schwalm) LaLiberte, 84 years of Brockton died Sunday February 24, 2008 at the Life Care Center of Raynham surrounded by her family. She was the wife for 48 years of the late Edmond R. LaLiberte. Dorothy was born an raised in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Jacob and Marie (Smith) Schwalm. She had been a resident of Brockton for the past 58 years. Dorothy was primarily a homemaker who was devoted to her husband and raising her family. When her children were grown she worked outside the home as a secretary and office manager. In her retirement she was a volunteer at the Senior Program at Community College and additionally was a member and volunteer at the Brockton Senior Center where she enjoyed yoga, trips and enrichment courses. Dorothy was an avid reader, gardener, a walker and enjoyed rug braiding. Dorothy will be remembered as a quiet and selfless person who always put her family first.
She is survived by her three daughters and a son, Carol Tarala and her husband Edmund of Dennis; Judy Seelye and her husband Paul of Amherst, NH; Donna Rudnickas and her husband Stephen of Bridgewater and Edmond W. LaLiberte and his wife Gail of Lakeville, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren, a sister Sally Holdsworth of Eighty Four, PA; and a brother Raymond Schwalm of Pittsburgh, PA and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late James Swide and Jack Schwalm.
Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 10am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 pm.
