Michael P. DeMeo, 49, of Scenery Lane, died Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lyslie (Rhude) DeMeo. They had recently celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Albert S. and Mary M. (DelSignore) DeMeo. He had been a resident of Johnston for nine years and had previously lived in Providence and North Providence.
Michael was a working leader for Fleet Maintenance at National Grid where he had been employed for 19 years. He was a member of Local #310, a Eucharistic minister for St. Lawrence Church and a member of St. Augustine Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his beloved son, Michael Paul DeMeo, with whom he lived, a sister, Donna M. De La Rosa of North Providence, a brother, Paul E. DeMeo, MD of Falmouth, MA, his mother in law, Rachel A. (Pinto) Rhude of North Providence and a large extended family of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends whose lives were enriched by his warmth, caring, generosity, and humor.
A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation at the funeral home is respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to St. Augustine School, 635 Mt.
