Dorothy A. Watts, 93, of Derry, NH died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Watts was born in Boston, MA on January 24, 1915, the daughter of the late William and Julia (Bowen) Allgaier. She had resided in Derry for more than 60 years and was employed as an inspector for McGraw-Edison in Manchester, NH. As a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry, she was active in the Catholic Daughters. In earlier years she was active in 4H, was a Brownie leader and a Girl Scout leader. Mrs. Watts enjoyed traveling the globe with her husband, and walking.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Donald E. Watts of Derry; two daughters, Donna L. Eckels and her husband Joseph J. of Manchester, and Jennifer A. Czaja and her husband Thomas of Gilmanton Ironworks, NH; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 from 5 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Thursday at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
